Reputation, rooms, and ending flags
What the Brothel is
The Brothel is a post-midgame Starbreed hub feature, not a second rail campaign. It was added in development as a Male Aether scene space and later tied hard to Female Aether. In 1.0, community 100% routes treat it as a reputation meter, a pair of rooms, and a bundle of Steam achievements and ending flags. This page stays spoiler-safe: systems and names, not graphic acts.
You do not need the Brothel to beat the first Finale as Male Aether. You do need it for several completion icons and for the A Better Life ending branch.
Unlock gates
- Raise Resolve by clearing missions and allocating points on the Aether tab (Resolve and Assertion, Aether Guide).
- Hit Resolve 50 to unlock Female Aether—a hard requirement for Brothel access and the Paternity Test achievement.
- Swap forms in the hub, then enter the Brothel UI when the game offers it.
- Push Brothel reputation to 100 for True Calling.
- Push Resolve to 100 if you want the Brothel-flavored A Better Life finale option (justice-tone dialogue after Finale2).
Male Aether still has Brothel-adjacent scene history from mid-development; Female Aether is the completionist key. Developer notes also said Female Aether has fewer romance scenes than Male Aether—enter for agency and achievements, not for a larger gallery.
Rooms and the Paternity Test (spoiler-light)
Paternity Test is RNG-heavy. Female Aether’s ovulation logic is tied to Resolve. Community guides list specific randomized Brothel models you must find:
- Room 1: Human Male, Fish Male, Large/Orc Male, Pterodactyl Male, Coyote
- Room 2: Ridable CK
- Plus the Clone from the Aether screen (unlocked around 4 Data Chips—Pom)
We will not describe scenes. Track visits in a notebook. If a model will not spawn, keep reputation climbing and re-enter; it is a grind achievement, not a rail-skill check.
Coyote also appears as a boss voice (PhosphorusVA) in the campaign. Do not assume the Brothel model and the stage boss are the same romance ally.
Reputation, stamina, and Credits
Unused Brothel stamina converts into Credits. Max reputation is one of the four pillars of Tanya shop buyout, alongside Gold medals, all Data Chips, and max crew Affinity. If you are 200 Credits short of Neural Link, a Brothel session can be economy, not only achievement hunting.
Endings that mention the Brothel
After Expectations of the Exalted on Finale2, Nova talks. Stats plus dialogue tone pick the branch:
- Assertion 100 + merciful tone → King of Catiya
- Invite Nova to the crew + merciful tone → Family Man
- Resolve 100 + justice tone → send Nova and Aether to the Brothel → A Better Life
- Missing those conditions → Peace Restored

What the Brothel is not
It is not multiplayer. It is not required for basic planet clears. It is not a substitute for Affinity ladders—crew bonds still happen in the normal hub. It is not pregnancy-scene content while characters are already pregnant; the developer stated 1.0 has impregnation, not pregnant H-scenes.

Session plan
Unlock Female Aether first. Spend one evening only on reputation. Spend a later evening only on Paternity Test RNG. Do not mix Finale2 ending hunting with Brothel RNG on the same save without a backup—those flags collide on purpose.
Backup hygiene
Duplicate the save before reputation 100, before Paternity Test marathons, and before the Finale2 talk. Brothel flags and ending flags share a file. Steam Cloud helps across PCs; it does not undo a justice-tone click when you meant Family Man. Female Aether at Resolve 50 is also the hinge for several Achievements you will otherwise chase on Male Aether forever.
