Starbreed Levels Walkthrough

How to play the campaign map

Starbreed’s galaxy-style progression chains voiced rail stages—on the order of eight major spaces—each capped with a unique boss. Names you will encounter across materials include Catiya, Raptura, Molbon, Neos, Titas, Zol’gan, and Finale content, often with second-level variants (Catiya2, Neos2, Zol’gan2) that deepen both combat and Affinity caps. This walkthrough stays spoiler-safe on story twists while teaching routing.

The embedded video is verified demo v0.1.1 gameplay—use it for movement density reference, not as a 1.0 checklist.

Universal stage goals

Every level, ask for four wins:

  1. Survive to the boss with boost discipline (Controls).
  2. Collect Credits for the shop (Credits Shop).
  3. Note the Data Chip for a replay (Data Chips, Checklist).
  4. Advance Affinity if a bond target was onboard (Affinity).

Early planets (learning)

Treat first spaces as tutorials wearing cool lighting. Bring a learning shell from Party Comps. Do not chip-hunt until you can beat the boss twice. Unlock allies and read Roster.

Catiya-era content historically introduces Nova as a boss with a calmer opener and a nastier later state—see Boss Guides.

Mid planets (systems online)

By mid campaign you should be juggling Resolve/Assertion (Resolve and Assertion), shopping weapons (Weapons Tier List), and pushing conversations through 25–75. If Affinity feels capped, clear the planet’s deeper stage before grinding hub talks.

Neos and Titas style stages stress sustained focus—pause with Space/Esc to read bullet stacks.

Late planets (gimmick bosses)

Zol’gan-facing fights (including Brisk-style kits with reflective barriers and siphon tricks) demand you stop holding shoot-on-reflex. Swap to a boss shell, optionally with EX passives from Impregnation Trials.

Finale routing

Before Finale pushes:

  • Major allies at meaningful Affinity or already Trial-complete
  • Comfort + breaker weapons owned
  • Chip checklist mostly done if you care about Pom rewards
  • Aether form choice intentional (Aether)
  • Ending goals understood at a high level (Endings)

Planet-by-planet mindset (spoiler-safe)

Catiya cluster: learn camera speed, meet early allies, respect Nova’s later aggression.
Raptura / Molbon clusters: tighten boost discipline; start chip notes.
Neos / Titas clusters: expect longer focus checks; pause literacy matters.
Zol’gan cluster: gimmick bosses; swap to anti-gimmick shells.
Finale: only enter when shop, bonds, and nerves are ready.

If second levels exist on a planet, treat them as both power and Affinity-cap keys. Skipping them to rush the map often creates artificial bond walls.

Credits versus completion nights

Label sessions. A Credits night ignores chips. A completion night ignores speed. Mixing goals on a hard stage is how people burn out before Finale.

Route closing note

Push planets deep enough to lift Affinity caps, but do not confuse map completion with personal completion. Chips, bonds, and boss mastery are separate nights. When a stage walls you, open Boss Guides before blaming the galaxy map.
