Starbreed Patch Updates Hub

Current status

Starbreed is released. The full game launched July 30, 2026 on Steam (app 2694020) and itch.io as an 18+ single-player 3D rail shooter × dating sim by RegulusNSFW, published by Mango Party. Do not treat older “pre-launch” demo posts as current store truth—those were pre-launch milestones.

This hub orients you to version history and where to look when a balance or QA patch drops. Launch-week recap and storefront facts live on Launch Notes; detailed chronology lives on Patch Notes.

What changed from demo culture to 1.0

Public demo and progress-report eras introduced many systems players still use:

  • Affinity conversations gated at 0 / 25 / 50 / 75, with higher caps unlocking after deeper planet progress in earlier builds
  • Female Aether requiring about 50 Resolve
  • Assertion tuning toward thrust / boost recharge rather than only max thrust
  • Data Chips hidden per level with Pom-related rewards
  • Impregnation Trials after 100 Affinity granting upgraded passives
  • Windowed resolution options and save-system rewrites during development

1.0 packages those pillars into a complete campaign with unique bosses, English voice coverage, UI languages (English, Korean, Russian, Simplified/Traditional Chinese), and shop progression via Credits.

How to use this hub after launch

  1. Skim Patch Notes when your build number changes (itch builds such as v1.0.2 have already appeared in storefront file names).
  2. Re-test your favorite shell using Party Planner if ability text changes.
  3. Revisit Weapons Tier List after shop or weapon patches.
  4. Confirm collectibles still match Data Chip Checklist.
  5. Keep systems literacy fresh with Guides Hub.

Where official news lives

Developer progress posts historically lived on itch.io devlogs and social channels. The “Starbreed is Out Now!” post on July 31, 2026 is the clearest launch banner—summarized on Launch Notes. This wiki captures player-facing mechanical impact; it is unofficial and may lag hotfixes by hours. For purchase links and platform differences, see Starbreed Review Hub and System Requirements.

What to read when your build changes

When itch filenames jump from v1.0 to v1.0.2 or Steam depots refresh silently, walk this sequence:

  1. Launch Notes — storefront parity (Steam vs itch, PC vs Linux packages, review ethics).
  2. Patch Notes — newest era at the top, especially the July 30–31 launch section.
  3. Troubleshooting — saves, Cloud, regional blocks, Aether tab allocation confusion.
  4. Goal-specific leaves — Medals and Scoring, Achievements, Demo vs Full.

Regional storefront reminders

Steam regional availability is not universal for adult titles. Some players buy on itch.io when Steam is blocked—full campaign, packages like Starbreed v1.0.2, but Steam achievements stay Steam-only. See Troubleshooting before duplicate purchases.

DLC and bundle caution

Metadata referencing DLC app id 4932900 does not automatically mean mandatory story content. Verify bundle contents during launch-month sales. Base-game guides remain complete for the 1.0 loop until official DLC pages ship.

Demo confusion in search results

Next Fest clips still rank beside Out Now posts. If someone “finished” after Catiya2, point them to Demo vs Full Game and Launch Notes before debating Trials or endings.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common Starbreed questions.

Is Starbreed still in demo?

No. The full game is released as of July 30, 2026. Demo posts are historical.

Where are detailed patch notes?

Launch Notes for July 30–31 recap, then Patch Notes for ongoing eras.

Do updates reset Affinity?

Normal patches should not wipe progress, but always keep backups when a save-system note appears.

Will multiplayer be added?

The released game is single-player only. Treat any future multiplayer claim as unconfirmed until official.

Which storefront updates first?

Itch and Steam can differ by hours. Check your installed build number against Patch Notes.
