Starbreed has a real in-game score. itch credits Wishful Simping as composer and Lewd K as sound design. As of 20 August 2026 there is no confirmed Bandcamp, Steam soundtrack DLC, or official YouTube OST upload. A Steam discussion from 17 August 2026 asked “OST?” with no developer file attached. Treat grey-market “OST packs” as unofficial. You already paid for the music inside the campaign on Steam app 2694020 or itch v1.0.2.

What shipped in 1.0
The released game is an 18+ single-player rail shooter × dating sim. Combat stages are voice acted and scored; hub spaces (Affinity talks, shop, Brothel) have their own beds. Development logs named new songs landing on specific stages before launch:
- Pearlus2 received a new song in the v0.10-era notes, alongside party-member dialogue and health pickups on that route.
- Titas2 and Neos2 received new music in the v0.15 wrap-up.
- Custom music in the sex-pod space was patched so it would play correctly after a load.
Those notes prove the score was treated as stage identity, not a looping menu sting. They are not a complete official tracklist. Do not treat this wiki as liner notes for a vinyl that does not exist.
How the score behaves in play
Rail shooters live or die on readable audio. Starbreed’s combat mix has to leave room for:
- Incoming laser and missile tells
- Party active cues (Q / E)
- Boss phase changes (Nova enrage, Brisk reflect, Titas world-swap)
- Barrel-roll and boost feedback
If you cannot hear telegraphs, lower music before blaming Controls. Controller players should still read Controller and Steam Deck. Linux itch buyers get the same audio package in the v1.0.2 zip; there is no separate “Linux OST.”
itch comments after launch praised gameplay and music in the same breath as VO. That matches the review verdict on Review Hub: the shooting is not a vehicle for a silent visual novel. Keep the mix up on first clears; mute only if you are chip-hunting a quiet hallway on Titas.
Storefronts and Deluxe
Base game (~$10.99) includes the in-game music. Artbook DLC 4932900 (~$4.99) is a PDF gallery under the Steam install folder. It is not a soundtrack album. Deluxe is the bundle of game + artbook. itch public files are the PC and Linux standalones only—no separate itch artbook or OST SKU. Full buyer notes: Deluxe Edition.
Steam user score in late August 2026 remained Very Positive (243 reviews, 235 positive). Publisher news on the app is mostly Mango Party cross-promos, not Starbreed patch diaries or album announcements. Mechanical version truth stays on Patch Notes: itch filenames still read v1.0.2.
