Starbreed Trial Gold Scores
Gold targets the UI hides until you fail
How to use this sheet
Impregnation Trials unlock at 100 Affinity per ally (Impregnation Trials). You fly a sperm-lane mini-stage: dodge, use that character’s kit, and avoid hits (−10 each; two hits usually dump gold). The game is stingy about showing Gold thresholds until you miss them. Copy this table into notes and tick Pass then Gold separately. Adult animation text stays off this page.
Nova’s trial is the odd one: a low 32 target and the only trial some 100% routes call mandatory after Finale2. Crew trials are optional power (EX passives) plus the Master / God of Starbreed achievement when all are cleared.
Gold targets
| Trial | Gold | Core tactic |
|---|---|---|
| Nova | 32 | 27 eggs, then the large thank-you egg (+5). No fancy trick. |
| Lana | 210 | Alternate brake and Lana’s summon to clear screens. |
| Nika | 210 | Active for Pink Wool; do not click so fast the ball despawns. Each ball is +3% attack speed forever—brake before clusters. |
| Tanya | 210 | Walls deduct on touch. Shoot the inactive shield through packs; steer gaps yourself. |
| Siren | 245 | Constant HP drain. Heal as clusters arrive so the passive overdrives. |
| Pix | 270 | High Thrust cost. Space shots; let the passive farm. |
| Rooster | 300 | Hardest. Empty Thrust drains HP. Spend Thrust into ghost ships, brake mid, laser dense groups, edge-hug the finale tunnel. |
Character pages: Lana, Nika, Tanya, Siren, Pix, Rooster, Nova.

Prep that is not the mini-game
- Confirm 100 on Affinity Checklist.
- Bring a ship that can still clear a mid stage with that ally onboard (Party Planner).
- Assertion vs Resolve: Rooster wants recharge; Siren wants enough HP to survive drain; Nika wants brake time (Resolve and Assertion).
- After EX, re-rank Allies Tier List before Finale2.
Sequence advice
Do one Trial per evening so you can tell which EX passive saved a later boss. Nova’s 32 can wait until after the rush if the game forces it anyway. Rooster last. Pix before Rooster if you need a confidence win.
Itch players noted Pix easy / Rooster brutal—that matches the gold gap (270 vs 300) and the HP-on-empty-thrust rule.

If gold will not pop
Count hits. If you took two, stop blaming the target number. If you took zero and still missed, you skipped eggs (Nova) or detonated future packs (Pix) or never spawned a fleet (Rooster). Write the failure verb in Notes, then retry once.
EX aftercare
When a Gold tick lands, immediately fly a familiar mid boss and write one sentence: “EX changed X.” If you cannot feel the change, you equipped the wrong ally or the upgrade is a chip-hunt passive. Update Party Comps the same night. StarBREED and Master/God icons sit at the end of this sheet plus Nova and Pom chip flags—scores live here, names live on Achievements.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common Starbreed questions.
Where are Trial gold numbers shown in-game?
Often only after a fail. Use this table so the first serious attempt can still hit gold.
Does every ally have a Trial?
Crew members at 100 Affinity get one. Nova’s 32-point trial is the special post-Finale2 case.
What does a hit cost?
Ten points. Two hits usually make gold impossible.
Is Nova’s trial required?
100% routes treat it as mandatory after the Finale2 talk. Crew trials are for EX and a completion achievement.
Which Trial should I do last?
Rooster at 300. Learn ghost fleets on normal stages first.
Do Trial golds equal stage Gold medals?
No. Stage medals are a different system on the Medals page.
