Starbreed Impregnation Trials

Feature overview

Impregnation Trials are a late-bond Starbreed system. Once an ally reaches 100 Affinity, hub interfaces for impregnation mechanics open for that character. Completing the Trial path unlocks an upgraded / EX passive for them, which can reshuffle Allies Tier List value overnight. This page explains access, preparation, and power impact without graphic adult description—we will say “adult trial content” and move on.

Unlock requirements

  1. Raise the target ally to 100 Affinity using parties and conversations (Affinity Guide).
  2. Ensure story progress has lifted any Affinity caps tied to planet stages (Levels).
  3. Open the hub interface added for impregnation mechanics after the 100 gate.
  4. Complete the Trial flow presented in-game.
  5. Confirm the upgraded passive on Abilities style breakdowns and your Party Planner.

Why Trials exist

They extend romance completion into combat power. Starbreed’s fantasy is not “scenes or gameplay”—it is scenes feeding gameplay. EX passives keep completionists engaged after the first Finale attempt and reward players who did not ignore mid-tier favorites.

Preparation checklist

  • Survive first. If you cannot clear mid bosses, finish Getting Started habits before chasing 100s.
  • Budget Credits. Shop weapons still matter—Credits Shop.
  • Tune Aether. Resolve/Assertion should match the Trial’s pressure profile—Resolve and Assertion.
  • Track bonds. Use Affinity Checklist so you know who is Trial-ready.
  • Expect scene volume. Marketing language cites 40+ adult scenes across the project; Trials are part of that unlock graph, not the entire graph.

Power impact

After EX passives land:

  • Re-evaluate Party Comps for Zol’gan / Finale grade fights.
  • Consider whether Affinity-farm partners are now combat starters.
  • Update notes on Boss Guides strategies that assumed pre-EX kits.

Spoiler-safe etiquette

We do not describe trial animations, acts, or dialogue. We do not rank “best trial.” We do mention that Female Aether content volume differs from male Aether per developer framing—see Aether.

Common questions players hit

Can I Trial before 100? No.
Do Trials consume the ally? No—think unlock, not deletion.
Do Trials replace Data Chips? No—Data Chips remain Pom’s track.
Are Trials required for endings? Treat them as completion/power; check Endings for flag specifics.

Trial night planning

Treat a Trial like a mini raid night: confirm 100 Affinity, confirm you can still clear a mid stage with that ally onboard, then enter the hub interface without a half-finished shop spree distracting you. After the EX passive unlocks, immediately test it on a familiar stage before a Finale attempt.

If multiple allies hit 100 together, sequence Trials so you can feel each passive in isolation. Upgrading three kits the same evening makes it hard to know which lever saved your run.

Power fantasy without spoilers

EX passives are why completionists keep playing after the first ending. They are not an excuse to skip learning rolls and boosts. A weak pilot with EX kits still loses to reflective gimmicks; a strong pilot with EX kits deletes phases. Keep Controls sharp.
