Starbreed’s base campaign on Steam app 2694020 and itch.io is the complete 18+ rail shooter × dating sim: eight planet spaces, unique bosses, Affinity, Trials, 22 Steam achievements, English VO, and UI in English, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Deluxe is not required to finish the story, romance flags, or combat 100%.

Starbreed Artbook is Steam DLC 4932900, listed at $4.99 as of August 2026. StarBreed Deluxe Edition is the bundle that pairs the game with that artbook. The PDF lives under the Starbreed install folder after purchase (Steam\steamapps\common\Starbreed). Marketing copy promises 200+ illustrations, unused concepts, and extra CGs. It does not add stages, weapons, or achievements. Linux itch buyers do not get this Steam PDF unless they also own the DLC on Steam.

What itch.io sells

itch still packages Starbreedv1.0.2PCStandalone (~770 MB) and Starbreedv1.0.2LinuxStandalone (~777 MB) at $10.99. That is the full game. There is no separate itch artbook SKU in the public file list. If Steam is region-blocked (Germany’s Steam rating lists the title as banned in store metadata), itch is the legitimate fallback—see Troubleshooting and System Requirements.

Soundtrack — Wishful Simping, no store OST yet

The itch credits name Wishful Simping as composer and Lewd K on sound design. A Steam discussion from August 17, 2026 simply asked “OST?” with no official upload attached. Treat a soundtrack release as unconfirmed until RegulusNSFW or Mango Party posts a Bandcamp, Steam soundtrack DLC, or YouTube upload. Do not buy grey-market “OST packs.” In-game music is already in the campaign you paid for.

How long is Starbreed?

A Steam thread titled General Length of Game? and itch comments after launch week agree on a short, dense campaign: several itch buyers said they 100% in a single dedicated day. That matches a rail-shooter runtime plus hub grinding, not a 40-hour JRPG. Your clock depends on goals:

• Story + unique bosses: an evening or two if you already like Star Fox-like rails.
• Affinity 100 + Trials gold: extra nights; Rooster’s 300 gold is the brutal one (Trial Scores).
• All 22 achievements: multiple ending flags, Brothel reputation, chip verbs, Tanya buyout—use Completion Route. Itch players also noted Affinity can feel fast, while Data Chips feel back-loaded (useful early bonuses sit late on Pom’s list).

There is no multiplayer to pad hours. Replays are medals, chips, and ending flags.

DLC, sequel, and “more female protagonist content”

Community threads from August 8–16, 2026 asked for DLC or a sequel, more Pix / Rooster content, and more female protagonist scenes. The developer has not posted a dated 1.1 content roadmap on the public itch full-game page as of August 20, 2026. Female Aether already exists at ~50 Resolve with a separate scene set—read Aether and Brothel rather than assuming the form is a costume. Treat sequel hopes as hopes.

Mango Party’s Steam news feed for this app is mostly publisher cross-promos, not Starbreed patch diaries. Mechanical history stays on Patch Notes. itch filenames remaining v1.0.2 means there is no public 1.0.3 on the official itch downloads; ignore third-party mirrors that stamp other version numbers.

Languages the game supports vs this wiki

Steam languages: English (full audio), Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese UI. A player asked for Spanish—it is not on the store language table. This wiki is English, Korean, and Traditional Chinese only. We do not ship Simplified Chinese or Russian articles per project rules.

Who should buy Deluxe

Buy the artbook if you want the PDF gallery and leftover concepts. Skip Deluxe if you only care about shooting, bonds, and achievements—the Review Hub verdict does not change. Support the team with an honest Steam or itch review after you have hours in, not with a bundle you will never open.
