Who Siren is

Siren is Starbreed’s sustain specialist—the ally you pack when a fight is designed to bleed you even if you dodge well. English VO credits list JellyfishJubilee. Scene and credit notes sometimes pair her with Freya (voiced by InvaderNoodles); treat those names as intertwined fantasy, not two guaranteed separate romance tracks, until your save’s Affinity list proves otherwise. This guide stays spoiler-safe: kits, routing, Trial numbers—not adult scripts.

If Lana teaches the bond UI and Tanya teaches the shop, Siren teaches not dying on purpose. Several 1.0 walls—especially Finale2—are written around her heal window.

Unlock and presentation

Siren joins after the early tutor band, once ocean / neon stages start mixing drain effects with unique bosses. Follow hub unlocks on Levels. Do not confuse a voiced saber or general with a romance recruit; Roster marks who actually sits in party slots.

Combat kit

Active — heal. Siren restores Aether during the drain. The trick community clears hide in plain sight: her passive overdrives while the heal is active. You are not only topping HP—you are turning the heal into a damage spike. Brake into dense clusters, then press the party skill so the passive cooks the pack while you recover.

Passive — nearby damage. Off-heal it is a modest aura. On-heal it is why Siren climbs Allies Tier List for long bosses. Pair with Assertion if you need to reposition into aura range, or Resolve if the drain still outpaces the heal until you learn the cadence. See Resolve and Assertion.

Q / E timing from Abilities matters more on Siren than on delete kits. Heal too early and the drain eats the extra HP. Heal too late and Finale2’s delayed health drop (health may not fall until the second Nova is down) fools you into thinking you are safe.

Finale2 is her job interview

The Finale2 Nova rush pits you against three Nova versions. Safe community loadout: MITE Drones, a 50% Thrust Generator, Siren, and Pix or Lana. Siren is the usual mandatory heal because HP pressure stays weird until the second boss falls. If you insist on a no-Siren meme run, treat it as a challenge clear, not a wiki default.

On Zol’gan 2 falling-rock chips, Siren plus Lana can shoot rocks out of the sky so Tanya’s bubble is optional.

Affinity and Trial

Ladder: 0 / 25 / 50 / 75 / 100 on Affinity Checklist. Trial gold is 245—higher than Lana / Nika / Tanya’s 210. The Trial drains HP from start to finish. Brake constantly, pop heal as clusters arrive, and ride the passive overdrive. Two 10-point hits usually kill gold. Table: Trial Scores.

Party craft

Siren is S-tier sustain, not S-tier delete. Bring a yarn or satchel partner (Nika, Pix) if the stage is a DPS check like Catiya 2’s sixty-second Nova chip. Bring Siren when the verb is drain, poison, or “the UI is lying about when you start dying.”

She does not replace Credits weapons. Fund a generator that matches her heal cadence; a 50% thrust option shows up in Finale2 notes because dodging is still the real DPS.

Common mistakes

Healing on empty screens, treating Freya as a guaranteed extra row, and benched Siren on Finale2 because “I never take damage.” Finale2 is not that fight. Pack the healer, then romance her on easier farms afterward.

Heal cadence drill

On any mid planet, forbid yourself from healing until a cluster is large enough to justify the overdrive. Count to two after the pack appears, then press the party skill. If stragglers live, you healed too late or stood outside aura range. Assertion exists so you can step in; Resolve exists so one late heal is not a wipe. Log three successful heal-into-pack moments before Finale2. That notebook beats a bigger gun.
