Starbreed Data Chip Locations

Before you hunt

Every Starbreed combat stage hides one Data Chip. In-game objective text is often vague or trap-like; the hub H-scene room still carries the official hint for each chip. This walkthrough page lists mechanical verbs community 100% routes use after the July 30, 2026 full release so you can close Pom rewards without endless blind replays.

Prep first. Max Resolve and Assertion, unlock the full party, buy useful shop tools (especially MITE Drones, wall-piercing tools, and Neural Link from Tanya), then hunt. Chips are not a soft lock on story—clear bosses via Levels and Bosses before perfectionism.

Mark progress on the Data Chip Checklist. Systems overview stays on Data Chips Guide. 4 chips open an Aether-screen clone option; 11 chips enable Pom’s late H-scene menu flag. Pair with Achievements for Knowledge Is Power, The Future Is Now!, and I Am The Captain Now!.

Difficulty-ordered stage map

Do not hunt in planet order. Group by the verb the stage actually asks for.

Titas 2 — Hallway blindspot

In the final hallway of the Real World, stay in the Real World (do not world-swap), hug the floor, and sweep the bottom path until the pickup cue plays. Muscle memory that flips worlds will skip the chip.

Raptura 1 — Escort ambush

When Lana warns you not to get boxed in—and before the pipe she wants you to boost into—four escort ships spawn. Destroy all four with Pix satchels or Tanya bubble rams in that narrow window.

Molbon 2 — Pigman glitch

Let Pigman live until a waterfall golem kills him. Shoot off his turrets to cripple him, but leave the main body intact so the golem finish can spawn the chip.

Neos 1 — Pink wire puzzle

Take the alt path. Destroy exactly three pink wires and nothing else in that cluster. One stray hit voids the chip and forces a checkpoint restart.

Catiya 2 — Sixty-second Nova melt

Defeat Nova in under 60 seconds. Save this for last with Neural Link active so every ally passive stacks. Early attempts: bring Nika, spam yarn toward the bottom of the screen for shorter travel, and melt fast.

Zol’gan 1 — Spider gauntlet

Reach the boss without taking spider venom. Red bugs are spiders; purple balls are venom. Prioritize dodging purple over DPS until the boss intro locks in.

Pearlus 2 — Ice blockage clear

Between the Tide Turners breaking the ice and the giant clam, kill all Sea Monster enemies (same type as Pearlus 1). Corner stragglers void the chip.

Raptura 2 — Crate cleansing

At the entrance, destroy box crates only. Carts do not count—ammo spent on carts wastes the window.

Finale 1 — No Help clear

Start Finale with Play (No Help). With prior chips collected, run Neural Link, stack defensive thrust tools (Blink / Barrel Roll), and melt with the same yarn-stack discipline used on Nova. See also Finale2 for the later rush—this chip is Finale 1’s No Help flag.

Titas 1 — Sandstorm claws

Inside the sandstorm, three purple claws hide under the left wall. Use MITE Drones, Fire Wave, or Lana’s enhanced active to sweep that wall when visibility collapses.

Pearlus 1 — Wall hack

On the underwater path, a Sea Monster sits outside the passageway walls. Normal blasters bounce. Hit it through rock with MITE Drones, Fire Wave, Flame Charge, Lana’s enhanced active, or Tanya’s upgraded active.

Catiya 1 — Blind corner

Kill every Purple Claw cluster. One cluster hides behind the building you fly through on the right near the first medkit. Pix’s highlight passive plus MITE Drones through the building; the chip spawns as you approach the boss.

Neos 2 — Boss wires

During the boss, destroy two full sets of pink wires in a tight window. Nika’s upgraded brake buys float time to finish both sets before phase transitions.

Molbon 1 — Golem sweep

Replay with Pix. Use her active to kill five shootable golems—save the active for dense packs in the first half.

Zol’gan 2 — Falling rocks

Take zero falling-rock hits. Options: Siren + Lana shooting rocks down, Tanya’s shield absorbing impacts, or pure pattern learning.

Routing with the rest of 100%

Chip nights should not mix with blind Impregnation Trials. Solve the boss, read the H-scene hint, then one focused replay. After Knowledge Is Power, continue Endings and Tanya shop buyout rules on Credits Shop.

Why this page exists

Players searching “Starbreed data chip locations” want verbs, not vibes. Keep the H-scene room hint open while you fly; if a patch renames a stage, trust the verb (pink wires, Real World hallway, No Help start) over a deprecated map label and re-check Updates.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common Starbreed questions.

How many Data Chips are there?

One per combat stage, including Pearlus, Titas, Zol’gan, and Finale 1 No Help. Use the checklist so none are skipped.

Should I hunt chips in story order?

No. Group by difficulty verb—timer melts and No Help clears last after Neural Link.

Where are official hints?

In the hub H-scene room. This page translates those into mechanical steps.

Do chips gate the main ending?

No. They gate Pom rewards, income, and several Steam achievements.

What is the Catiya 2 chip?

Defeat Nova in under 60 seconds. Neural Link plus Nika yarn is the reliable late-file method.

Carts or crates on Raptura 2?

Destroy box crates only. Carts do not count.
