Starbreed Tanya Shop Buyout
Flags that unlock Top Customer—not just a Credits grind
Copy this sheet beside the shop
Top Customer is the Steam achievement for buying out Tanya’s Cyber Shop. Players who only farm Credits bounce off a still-locked row. Community 100% routes (August 2026) agree the shop waits on four flags plus leftover Credits: Gold medals on all main missions, all Data Chips, max Brothel reputation (100), and max Affinity on every crew member. This page is the checkbox list. Systems live on Credits Shop and Loadout. Character kit: Tanya.
Starbreed is single-player. Steam icons need the Steam client. itch v1.0.2 can still empty the shop on that save; you just will not pop Steam’s picture.
Flag checklist
| Flag | Where to verify | Done |
|---|---|---|
| Gold on every main mission | Medals | ☐ |
| Every Data Chip | Chip Checklist | ☐ |
| Brothel reputation 100 | Brothel | ☐ |
| Affinity 100 on all allies | Affinity Checklist | ☐ |
| Neural Link purchased | Loadout | ☐ |
| Comfort primary (MITE or equivalent) | Weapons | ☐ |
| Remaining shop rows bought | This table after flags | ☐ |
Tick flags before you rage-farm the same easy stage for an hour. Excess Affinity converts to Credits. Unused Brothel stamina converts to Credits. Tanya’s passive staying on through Neural Link is why late missions print more money than early ones.
Credit conversion habits
After flags are true:
- Fly two easy planets you already understand (Planets).
- Spend leftover Brothel stamina instead of letting it rot.
- Do not buy pinups the night before a wallet check if a weapon row is still closed.
- Re-open the shop after each pair of missions—the UI can hide a newly unlocked row under a fold.
If conversion “does nothing,” you are not at max Affinity or not at 100 Brothel. The shop is not bugged; the flag is missing. True Calling is the reputation achievement; finish that ladder on the Brothel page.
Neural Link and the last chips
Buy Neural Link before the last chip verbs that assume stacked passives (Catiya2 60-second Nova, Finale 1 No Help). Link is a shop row, so it counts toward buyout and toward combat. Do not save it as “the last cosmetic.” Order: gun → defense → Link → remaining power → pinups. Details: Loadout and Chip Locations.
What this sheet is not
It is not a price datamine. Exact Credit costs shift if a patch retunes the shop; trust the live UI. It is not an adult-scene catalog. It is not a save editor. If a row stays grey after all four flags, note your build string (Steam depot vs itch v1.0.2), then read Patch Notes and Troubleshooting before assuming you need a second save.
Session template
| Date | Flags newly ticked | Missions flown | Shop rows left | Notes |

Keep this next to Party Planner so you do not swap a completion shell for an Affinity-farm trio that earns slower Credits after conversion is already online.

Why the four flags exist
Tanya’s shop is the campaign’s junk drawer and its trophy case. Gold medals prove you can fly every unique-boss stage cleanly. Chips prove you finished Pom’s exploration track. Brothel 100 proves Female Aether’s hub loop is done. Max crew Affinity proves every conversation ladder is closed. The game then lets remaining Credits mean something—otherwise a lucky farm stage would empty a shop that is supposed to mark completion, not patience.
That is also why Neural Link sits in the middle of the sheet. Link is useless if you have not unlocked the passives it stacks, and the last chips assume those passives. Buying Link on a fresh save does not skip Affinity.
Common false finishes
- “I have Gold on the planets I like.” Top Customer wants all main missions. A skipped Pearlus2 or Zol’gan2 is enough.
- “I have eleven chips so Pom is done.” Knowledge Is Power is all chips, including Finale 1 No Help. Eleven is a Pom scene flag, not the shop flag.
- “Brothel feels maxed.” Reputation is a number. If True Calling has not popped on Steam, you are not at 100.
- “Everyone is at 75.” Shop conversion wants 100. Seventy-five is a scene gate, not a wallet gate.
Walk the four flags in that order on a Sunday, then farm. Mixing farm into an unfinished medal list is how people burn out two hours before the row unlocks.
Dual-PC and Cloud warning
Steam Cloud can resurrect an older shop state if a second PC uploads first. After a buyout session, quit to desktop once, confirm the shop UI, then let Cloud rest. itch zips do not sync with Steam—do not expect a Linux standalone to inherit a Steam receipt. See Troubleshooting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common Starbreed questions.
Why is Tanya’s shop still locked after I farmed Credits?
You likely still need Gold medals, all chips, Brothel 100, or max crew Affinity. Credits are the last ingredient, not the only one.
Does Neural Link count toward Top Customer?
Yes. It is a shop purchase and a combat tool. Buy it before the last timer chips.
Do excess Affinity points become Credits?
Yes, once conversion is online. Max the ladders on the Affinity checklist, then fly easy stages.
Can itch players empty the shop?
Yes on the itch save. The Steam achievement picture requires owning and running the Steam build.
Should I buy pinups first?
No. Gun, defense, Neural Link, remaining power, then cosmetics.
Where are Gold medal rules?
On the Medals and Scoring guide. This sheet only asks whether every main mission already shows Gold.
